Welcome to Cat Garden Phuket, a nonprofit cage-free cat sanctuary located in the heart of Phuket. Our mission is to provide a safe and loving environment for stray and abandoned cats, allowing them to live freely and happily. We believe that every cat deserves a chance at a better life, and we are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming these beautiful creatures. Our sanctuary is not just a shelter; it's a community where we educate the public on responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying/neutering. Our story
Nestled in the heart of Phuket, Cat Garden Phuket was created from a simple belief: every cat deserves safety, love, and a chance to thrive. What began as a small effort to care for a few stray and abandoned cats quickly grew 2026 into a peaceful sanctuary where rescued felines can heal, play, and find companionship.

Our garden is more than just a shelter — it’s a home filled with kindness, patience, and second chances. Each cat that arrives here has its own story, and we are dedicated to giving them comfort, medical care, and the attention they deserve while helping them build trust again.

Our vision at Cat Garden Phuket is to create a future where every cat is valued, protected, and surrounded by love. We dream of a Phuket where no cat is left to suffer alone on the streets, and where communities come together to support rescue, care, and responsible animal welfare.

Our team
Cat Garden Phuket was founded in 2026 by Suchada Kwankawe & Julian Sitzler, a Thai-German couple united by their deep love and compassion for animals. Together, they created a peaceful sanctuary dedicated to rescuing stray and abandoned cats in Thailand, giving them safety, care and the opportunity for a better life.
Suchada Kwankawe
Suchada has always had a deep love for cats. Over the past years, she dedicated her time to rescuing stray and abandoned cats, providing them with food, medical attention and a safe place to recover. Seeing so many animals struggling, inspired her to dream of creating something bigger. That's why she founded a peaceful sanctuary where cats could live freely and safely.
Julian Sitzler
Julian shares the same deep passion for animal welfare and compassion that inspired the creation of Cat Garden Phuket. After witnessing the challenges faced by stray and abandoned cats in Thailand, he joined his wife, Suchada Kwankawe, in turning their shared dream into reality. Together, they worked tirelessly to build a peaceful sanctuary where rescued cats could live safely and with the care they deserve.
Ausa Kwankawe
Ausa plays an important role in supporting the project by helping share the sanctuary’s mission with the world through social media. With creativity and passion, she helps raise awareness about rescued cats, animal welfare, and the importance of compassion for animals in need.
Chalisa Kwankawe
Chalisa is always ready to help wherever support is needed. From caring for rescued cats to assisting with daily tasks around the sanctuary, she brings kindness, positivity, and dedication to the team. Her willingness to help in every situation makes her an important part of the sanctuary.
